OVERVIEW OF THE CONTRACTORS ADVANTAGE EASY LOADS PROGRAM

So what comes with Easy-Loads™ you may be wondering? The following is a summary to help you become familiar with Easy-Loads™.

Load Master Copies: This folder contains the master copies for doing load calculations. What you will typically do is copy the master copy for the type of load calculation you want to do, either an exterior load calculation or a room-by-room load calculation, and then rename the copy you just made with your customer’s name. You will then file it in the folder entitled “Customer Loads” so you can access it any time you need it in the future.

Load Samples: This folder contains two different load calculation samples for you to work with to become familiar with Easy-Loads™. It is highly recommended that you learn how to do load calculations in Easy-Loads™ by completing these samples. Do the MyExteriorHomeSample” first and when you are finished check your work for accuracy in the document ExteriorHomeSample. When you are done with this then continue becoming familiar with Easy-Loads™ by doing the load calculation sample entitled MyRoomByRoomSample and comparing it to RoomByRoomSample to make sure you are doing the calculations successfully. Later in this instruction manual step by step instructions are found that will guide you through this process of learning how to do load calculations. You will find it is time well invested in your future success.

You can actually become very familiar with Easy-Loads™ in just one morning, afternoon or evening. It is strongly suggested you take the time and do the suggested exercises to better understand and become familiar with this software.

.

Customer Loads: This folder is where you should file your customer’s load calculations. You never know when you will need them again. You may also find a home with the same floor plan in the same subdivision or in another subdivision and you can then use the same load calculation for another customer’s home that has the same floor plan thus saving you the work of doing a new load calculation.

Load Multipliers: When doing a load calculation, you will look up in a chart what type of doors, windows, walls, etc. a home has. That folder contains this information.

Weather Data: This folder contains weather data that you will use for your area of the country when doing load calculations. Obviously the colder your climate is the more heating a home requires and the warmer the climate the more cooling a home requires.

If your exact city is not listed you can use the weather numbers for the nearest city to your location.

Worksheets: These worksheets can be printed out and carried on a clipboard when walking around a home to do load calculations. They provide a very fast and convenient way to quickly gather measurements needed for load calculations.

Operating Cost Calculators: These calculators are great to use to show customers how much money they can save if they replace their existing heating and cooling equipment with a new high efficiency unit. There are calculators for air conditioners, gas heat, electric heat, heat pumps, oil heat, and propane heat.

You can compare both different efficiency units and different fuel types. For example you could compare what a heat pump cost to operate versus a gas furnace or what the savings would be if a 14 S.E.E.R unit was installed versus a 13 S.E.E.R. unit.

Operating Cost Charts: These charts are good to print out and carry in your truck or in your sales manual. They give a customer a quick look at how much they can save in energy when replacing their heating and cooling equipment.

Proposals: This folder contains example templates for customer proposals for selling them new heating and cooling equipment.

Easy-Loads™ also contains additional software that can be used in your HVAC business to become more successful.

Presentation Software: This software can be used to do a HVAC sales presentation at a customer’s kitchen table.

Spreadsheet Software: This software can be used for many purposes in your company.

Word Processing Software: This software can be used for many purposes in your company such as writing sales letters to your customers.

Tutorial: This program will teach you how to use the various software programs to your advantage.

Sizing Charts: These charts make it easy to know what size ducts, refrigerant piping, and wiring is needed for your HVAC system to provide the load calculation requirements of a home.
